Hoy, Diesel y yo les presentamos a Iván, a quien le gustó tanto la colección Diesel SS12 que decidió combinar unos pinstripe jeans de Diesel con una polo Diesel en un hermoso amarillo pastel, ambos de la colección SS12 disponible en las tiendas Diesel de Albrook Mall y Mall Multiplaza Pacific.

¿Cómo defines tu estilo?
Como un estilo entre estilos. Al criarme en Panamá pienso que tengo siempre un elemento elegante, estilo conservador. Más algo esencial que define mi estilo son los colores, y me atrevo a usar ropa no tradicional. Si tengo que entrar en estereotipos sería: tomar algo de hipster con un toque preppy y mi esencia en la mezcla propia de estos tres elementos.
¿Qué te inspira?
Todo lo que veo y me rodea. El clima, la gente, la televisión, el Twitter, el Facebook, la naturaleza. Vestirme, al igual que cocinar, dibujar, pintar, y escribir, son la expresión de mi vena artística. Definitivamente me relaja.
¿Tienes algún ritual a la hora de vestirte/escoger tu ropa?
Por lo general antes de vestirme estoy construyendo mentalmente opciones. En las mañanas para trabajar es más fácil; tengo que combinar una corbata con mis medias. Para salir por lo general tomo un nap de 20 minutos, y ya ahí estoy pensando que usar. Luego al salir del baño tengo bien la opción, o un top 3 de opciones. Por lo general ya hay una opción ganadora.
Un libro…
Tengo varios excelentes libros en mente que leí hace poco, como “El Olvido Que Seremos” o “Tokyo Blues”; aunque siempre, pero siempre vuelvo a Macondo –“Cien Años De Soledad”– es y pienso que seguirá siendo siempre mi libro preferido y mi mejor referencia literaria.
¿Qué es lo más osado que te has puesto?
Tengo unas ankle boots chocolates de amarrar a las que les puse unos cordones azul florescente.

How would you describe your style?
It’s like a style within styles. Having been raised in Panama, I believe I always have an element of elegance. Something more essential that defines my style is color, and I dare to wear unconventional clothes. If I have to put a label on it, it would be: take a bit of hipster with a touch of preppy and my own essence in the mix of these elements.
What inspires you?
Everything I see and what surrounds me. The weather, people, television, Twitter, Facebook, nature. Getting dressed; like cooking, drawing, painting, and writing; is an expression of my artistic vein. It definitely relaxes me.
Do you have any rituals when it comes to getting dressed/picking out an outfit?
Generally, before getting dressed I am already constructing options in my mind. In the mornings, for work, is easier; I just have to match a tie with my socks. Before going out I generally take a 20 minute nap, and I am already thinking about what to wear. After I take a shower, I have a clear idea of an option, or a top 3 of options. By then I already know what the winning choice is.
One book…
A lot of excellent books I have recently read come to mind, like “El Olvido Que Seremos” or “Tokyo Blues”; although I always, always go back to Macondo; “One Hundred Years Of Solitude” is and I think will always be my favorite book and my best literary reference.
What is the craziest thing you’ve worn?
I have a pair of brown, lace-up ankle boots which I customized with bright blue laces.

¿Cómo defines tu estilo?
Diría que mi estilo es versátil, en ocasiones puede ser sporty/easy-going como también puede ser elegante y minimalista. Siempre busco sentirme cómoda con lo que me pongo.
¿Qué te inspira?
Uff, ¡muchas cosas! Todo lo relacionado con diseño, fotografía, otras personas con estilos únicos, ¡incluso la música!
¿Tienes algún ritual a la hora de vestirte/escoger tu ropa?
No puede faltar una buena canción de fondo a la hora de vestirme/escoger mi ropa. Aparte de eso, todo depende de mi estado de ánimo y de lo que sea más apropiado para la ocasión.

Hay tantas disciplinas distintas en cuanto al arte que la verdad me gustan e inspiran muchos diseñadores como Maarten Bass, Shourouk, Jaime Hayon, Naoto Fukasawa, etc.
¿Qué es lo más osado que te has puesto?
En una ocasión me puse la corbata de gatito (bow tie) que usó mi papa el día de su boda.
